Holy Hulk Balls........

There's been months of fan speculation on what properties Marvel Studios would use for their "Phase 3" line-up and, with DC/Warner Bros. announcing their entire slate up until 2020, fans have been dying to here what Marvel Studios has in store for the next couple of years. Well boy did they let the cat out of the bag! Marvel invited press today for a very secretive event. Now most journalists expected more Avengers: Age of Ultron footage, seeing as the trailer was leaked a week early, and some people even speculated the official announcement of Doctor Strange or some Ant-Man footage. But I don't think anybody could have speculated what Marvel did today. Marvel Studios has just announced their full phase 3 line-up, leading all the way up to 2019!

As you can see there will be 9 Marvel movies between May 6, 2016 and May 3, 2019! Let's have a run down of what's to come.

Captain America 3: Civil War (May 6, 2016)

Well it was already reported by Variety Magazine last week but now it's been officially confirmed. Kevin Feige said that the movie incarnation of the Civil War storyline will be it's own thing, distinct from the comic book version. He also went on to say that it will focus on who the super heroes should work for rather than the comic book version of exposing their secret identities. How could you not be pumped for this!

Doctor Strange (November 4th, 2016)

The sorcerer supreme is coming! "In the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of the supernatural, that involves everything from quantum mechanics to string theory," said Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige on Marvel's website. "The idea of this film is to open up a whole new corner of the cinematic universe. We want to enter, through Strange, the world of parallel dimensions." Benedict Cumberbatch is reportedly in "final negotiations" to play the character with Scott Derrickson locked in to direct the film.

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 (May 5th, 2017)

James Gunn delightfully surprised us by announcing that we will be getting a sequel to his smash hit which came out this year. Originally slated for July 28th, 2017 the movie has been pushed forward by 2 months! No complaining from anybody there as Guardians is considered one of Marvels best films. Plus more Groot and Rocket YAY!

Thor 3: Ragnarok (July 28th, 2017)

"This is a very important movie for us in Phase 3," said Marvel's Kevin Feige. "We plan on taking Thor to another level. It picks up where we leave Thor in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and impacts everything that comes after." Chris Hemsworth is confirmed to return as the Mightiest Avenger - for now no other cast details have been confirmed.
On stage at Marvel's event, Feige confirmed that in this context Ragnarok means "The end of all things." The movie was also called out as the "key film" of Phase Three, and that it starts right after Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Black Panther (November 3rd, 2017)

Starring Chadwick Boseman (42, Get on Up), the film will center around the character T'Challa. Marvel's Kevin Feige has stated that we will see the Black Panther suit in action as early as 2016 in Captain America: Civil War.

Some suspect that he may be officially introduced in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, as an image of Black Panther's big bad Klaw was possibly spotted in the teaser trailer.

Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 & 2 (May 4th, 2018 - May 3rd 2019)

“We’ve always had a plan since Nick Fury broke into Tony Stark’s house and told him he’s part of a bigger universe," Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said. "'Avengers: Infinity War Part 1' is the beginning of the culmination of everything that has come before."

Not to be confused with Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is yet to be released. Infinity war will see the team tackle the mad titan himself Thanos. Split into two films it will be the culmination of everything that has happened in the Marvel cinematic Universe.

Captain Marvel (July 6th, 2018)

Finally Carol Danvers will be hitting the big screen as Marvels first female cinematic superhero.
Kevin Feige explained, "This film has been in the works almost as long as Doctor Strange or Guardians of the Galaxy before it came out, and one of the key things was figuring out what we wanted to do with it. Her adventures are very earthbound, but her powers are based in the cosmic realm.”

Inhumans (November 2nd, 2018)

It's one that has been rumoured for months but has finally been confirmed. “November 3, 2018 will introduce dozens of characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe," Feige said in a statement. "We really do believe the Inhumans can be a franchise or a series of franchise unto themselves. They have dozens of powers and an amazing social structure. With our 20th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we wanted to continue to refine what that universe is about."

Well there it is! All the latest info for you to digest. With this slate and DC's slate combined we'll be seeing 19 (that's right 19!) confirmed comic book movies between 2015 and 2020. Looks like I'm gonna be going to the cinema quite a lot in the next 5 years.
