A heavy influence from Frank Millers The Dark Knight Returns.........

Zack Snyder took a break from filming and made a surprise appearance at Comic-con yesterday. The Man Of Steel director took the stage at DC's Hall H panel to give the fans what was speculated weeks before - A teaser trailer for his new superhero mash-up Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

He also released the first image of Israeli actress Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Sporting a more darker muted armour than we know from the comic books.

He then brought brought on stage Batman and Superman themselves Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill and the entire hall went nuts.

Apparently the curtains on next to the stage opened up, revealing a massive screen and the fans knew this was the moment they had been wanting and waiting for. The footage shown at the event began with Affleck’s Caped Crusader standing atop a Gotham rooftop on a rainy night, wearing the armoured suit from Frank Millers Dark Knight Returns; his eyes then light up solid white. He removes a tarp and reveals the Bat signal underneath. Following that, the camera track up towards the sky, revealing Cavill’s Superman hovering in the spotlight; he looks extremely angry, as his eyes glow red. It then cuts back to Batman with a look of grimace on his face. Cue the film’s official logo.

Update: The video has been pulled but here are some images from the teaser trailer, again not great quality but good enough to get a look at the action.
