Movie News: Bond 24 To Have More Gags And Jokey Exchanges

I heard James Bond once slept through an earthquake. He was shaken, not stirred........

Before I start, I apologise for the cheesy joke but it seems that you could expect a dash of cheddar to the upcoming Bond 24.

With the announcement of veteran Bond screen writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade being picked up to rewrite John Logan's script for Bond 24. It's said that they will be adding more wit to the film.

According to The Daily Mail "Purvis and Wade have been asked to ‘punch up’ the script and sprinkle in more gags, emphasising the witty repartee between Daniel Craig’s 007 and Naomie Harris’s Miss Moneypenny, and focusing on the interplay between Bond and Ralph Fiennes’s M."

Purvis and Wade's Bond credits include The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, and Skyfall. So you know they have experience with the new incarnation of 007.

It's a welcome addition to the series because even though Casino Royal and Skyfall are two of my favourite Bond films, it always felt like it missed the comedy element that made 007 what it was.

Sam Mendes returns to direct and you can catch Bond 24 October 23, 2015, in the UK and November 6, 2015, in the U.S.
