Seems 20th Century Fox are kicking up the promotion of the upcoming film Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes with the release of three short films, building further on the world that has been created.

At the end of the first film we see that the simian flu has just started to break out. When we get to the next film, set 10 years after the first film, most of the earths population has been wiped out by the virus. The three short films show the human struggle with the virus during that time.

The first short, titled "Quarantine," shows a father and daughter who are coping with the Simian Flu outbreak, and visiting their afflicted mother in her quarantine.

The next short, "All Fall Down", focuses on a teenage girl who barters with her neighbours to survive in a crumbling society (five years after the Simian Flu outbreak) as she deals with an increasingly savage world.

And the final short titled "Story Of The Gun" shows the story of a gun that has been passed between multiple owners by the time the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes begin.

It's nice to see that they are trying to create a believable world and it's always cool to see something outside the main story.
